Summary

A polished, public-record demo site about the APC National Women's Leader of Sierra Leone, with a live AI chatbot grounded only on her public statements. Trilingual (EN / NL / Krio-beta).

The ask

Show a sister-in-law — a senior political figure in the Sierra Leoneese diaspora — what AI-augmented development can produce when one developer and Claude sit down together for an evening.

What I built

  • Researched 16 public sources (Cocorioko, Awoko, Sierraloaded, Sierra Trends, SGM Live, AYV News, Calabash, Sierra Leone Telegraph, UK Companies House)
  • Designed and wrote copy across three languages (EN / NL / Krio-beta)
  • Built 9 sections: Hero, Timeline, Herstory, Quote Wall, Diaspora Map (8 NA + 3 EU chapters with transatlantic arc), Social Pulse, Ask Mariama chatbot, Press, Built-by
  • Wrote the chatbot system prompt and grounded it on verified public statements only
  • Animated the entire experience with Framer Motion (parallax timeline, pulsing social ticker, animated map)

  • Herstory section: 65-year lineage from Nancy Steele (1960) to Mariama today
  • Interactive 11-chapter diaspora constellation across North America + Europe

  • Language toggle EN / NL / Krio (beta) across the entire UI and chatbot

Outcome

Shown live during a family visit. Mariama gave it the green light to develop further. Now an active private project on GitHub.
